Those festivals are abmismal. Most are, come to think of it.
People down here eat it up man. This is the second year they are doing the fest for our newly built park/ampitheater on the gulf. I'm glad to see stuff like this coming here after 8 years of post katrina gloom and nothingness but man the execution is lacking big time.
yeah, what's the deal with people down there and those types of bands?? every time i go home to visit mississippi and pop on the radio in my parents' car, or go to a bar, it's just a dearth of unintelligible music pummeling my head.
It's Mississippi.
Hahah. Yeah, well I guess its good for the region. Lord knows they've been through a lot. I just haven't heard the name Shinedown in eons.
Lineup for Hopskotch in NC looks pretty cool this year.

It annoys me because it affects the live acts we get down here. For many of the people around here their musical tastes are formed from lack of exposure to other things. They just don't know any better and from my experiences their minds aren't open to different kinds of rock music.
There are rumors on the PearlJam.com forums that Pearl Jam will perform in Seattle at the Key Arena on December 6th and 7th. Two members (primussucks and LEBERT19) have posted the rumor, with one of them claiming they heard it from “a certain guitar player” at a Mariners game. Obviously this is a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt. Pearl Jam are rumored to be planning a tour and new album release for this fall. The band are playing at Wrigley Field in Chicago in July. http://grungereport.net/?p=24934

Doesn't this jive with the rumors we heard earlier in the year about PJ touring in December?

Hmm. Maybe that should read "We anticipate the band's Voodoo performance to be the final show of that series of dates. The rest of the tour dates will be announced after everyone has booked travel and vacation days for the first series. "
I have a vacation week in October, probably would have travelled to see them play somewhere. November is much trickier to get time off but we'll see when the tour schedule is released.
Oh perfect timing, as my 10c membership expires in November and i was going to let it lapse. I'll probably renew just so I can get dicked over in my hometown ticket raffle.

but the ticket raffle will be before November, just buy them then let it lapse.
Also, I had no problems getting tix to both nights back in 09. Did you?

"I was just listening to a local radio station here in CT. They had Jim Koplik on, who is the Northeast regional director for Live Nation. He was taking questions about tour news and a caller asked about Pearl Jam.
He said, "Pearl Jam never forgets to call me. They are planning a fall tour, and it looks like the XL center in Hartford will be a date. Plan on them being here in the fall."
sweet, there's noway they hit Hartford and not Boston. Also, if they're playing the XL center and not the outdoor place that probably means it's more late october/november than early fall.
