Re: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Im pretty happy with the way the draft worked out, i had some other names in mind for who i would have liked in the 2nd round but i trust the FO and scouting dept. so im excited to see how these guys can do.
Winston is Winston, love him or hate him he is the new QB and i really hope he can live up to his potential.
Donovan Smith sounds like he has a lot of potential but needs some motivation at times to work, so aside from the coaching staff motivating him, this will be a great chance for Winston to show that he can be a great motivator and get Smith to play to his potential.
i like everything im reading about Ali Marpet and it sounds like the coaching staff was in love with what they saw from him.
Kwon Alexander and Kenny Bell sound like great depth picks who could both potentially be starters in the next year or 2 so i like that.
we will have to wait and see how it all works out but im excited for this season

Looks like Jameis is reaching out to La'el Collins trying to get him to choose the Bucs once/if he is cleared of any charges. i doubt he will come to Tampa but if he does that would be such a huge overhall for this O Line

He's really not. I have watched him play for 4 years. Good player but he will struggle against physical DBs and his routes are not the best. He might become a decent #3 but I really don't see much more than that.E.H. Ruddock wrote:Kenny Bell is a steal in the fifth round.

I think it's safe to say that jwfocker is not part of this consensus.

Re: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
not a ton of news to share at the moment, the Bucs did Claim 2 players off of waivers, DJ Swearinger a safety from the Texans who was drafter a couple of years ago in the 2nd round, im not sure if he will make the final 53 or not, he is a hard hitting safety who doesnt seem to have much coverage skill, but we will see, if he can cover better then he has shown then he will make the team because Safety is definitely a weak point for the Bucs. they also picked up Khaseem Green a LB from Chicago, he sounds mostly like a Depth/Special teams pick up but there is a possibility he could wind up making a play for starting LB if anyone gets hurt.
I will say that im starting to get really excited to see what Winston can do, everything i hear about him is sounding good, he sounds like he is studying every waking minute he isnt already practicing, so i hope the line can protect for him and we can see if he is what they think he will be.

Re: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
I think the Bucs could easily win their division this year. Winston + Year 2 of Lovie's Tampa 2 could do the trick. Plus, playing the slightly less craptacular AFC South helps, although unfortunately they get HOU & IND on the road.

Re: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
i really think it will wall come down to how the O line plays this year, if they can protect Winston then the Bucs have a chance in the really weak South, if not then they will be picking top 5 again next year. as much as NO seems to have gotten weaker this off season, i think ATL and CAR both got at least a little bit better and they were both way better then the Bucs last season. i have a lot of hope for what they will be able to do this year, but like last year i wont be buying into any hype, ill wait to see how they look when they hit the field in the regular season.

Re: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
more good stuff on Jameis, i read on JoeBucFan that Mankins has really stepped it up this off sean and is in great shape and taking a leadership roll with the Oline, trying to whip them into shape. the good thing about Jameis is that Mankins is getting the Oline to do Gassers when ever they make mistakes and so far every time the Oline has run Jameis has run with them. he is doing a nice job of making the Oline want to protect them
