Why is this a surprise? Maybe it's b/c I follow Clemson, but Nuk Hopkins has been on their radar for months. It's been talked about quite a bit on Tiger boards. Houston, Baltimore, and St. Louis were all interested in him. I think the pick is perfect for Houston. They need another weapon to take the load off Andre Johnson.elliseamos wrote:again. nothing predictable about this year's picks. Fair point. RB value isn't 1st rd anymoreOrpheus wrote:Most of the picks in this first round have actually been relatively smart. Glad to see teams who are perennially allerigic to certain positions (Cards/Bears with OL) actually take those guys high. And you guys really thought GB would pick Lacy? GB as a rule ONLY takes premium positions in the 1st. I didn't think any RBs would be taken on the first day this year, it's really not an amazing class.
I just like the fit.

I was shocked when Miami traded up to 3 and completely floored when they took Dion Jordan. They only gave up a 2nd to move up 9 spots, so that wasn't so bad. I really have no idea what to think, though.

The more I look at what they did, the more I think that the new GM is planning for the future. Just another reason why it was stupid of Woody Johnson to force him to keep Rex for one year. The Jets are going to be a dead team walking in 2013.Chris_H_2 wrote:Jets = LOL

I knew GB wouldn't take Lacy, but I don't want to hear any more crap about how they can't run the ball. Maybe they'll pick up Wisconsin's very own Monte Ball in the second. But probably not.Electromatic wrote:Fair point. RB value isn't 1st rd anymoreOrpheus wrote:Most of the picks in this first round have actually been relatively smart. Manti Te'o Informed He'll Go First Overall To Nebraska Pioneers
NEW YORK—Ending any speculation about the top pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Nebraska Pioneers have reportedly informed Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o that they will select him with the first overall pick. “Coach Pfeiffer called this morning to say the Pioneers are taking me first,” said Te’o, who confirmed that he has agreed to a tentative four-year, $32.5 million contract with the Omaha-based Pioneers. “Obviously, it’s a huge honor, and I’m so excited to work alongside Tom Brady, Justin Smith, Calvin Johnson, and the rest of my new teammates. We’re going to shake things up in the NFC Midwest this year.” Sources indicated that Te’o later declined to talk with the Minnesota Vikings about drafting him 25th, telling team officials that they were “too late.”

Re: 2013 NFL Draft
I figured there would be a mention of his girlfriend being the prettiest girl in the green room.
This is how I'd rank some of the remaining guys:
Jesse Williams
Cornelius Carradine
Jonathan Banks
Jamar Taylor
Geno Smith
Robert Woods
Keenan Allen
Eddie Lacy
Margus Hunt
Jonathan Jenkins
Zach Ertz

You are forgetting Jamie Collins. Guy has a huge upside. Watch for the Saints to try and get him in the 3rd.

I'm thinking the guys above will all be picked in the first half of this round. I'll worry about 3rd round guys when we get closer to that point.TheDapperGent wrote:elliseamos wrote:I figured there would be a mention of his girlfriend being the prettiest girl in the green room.

Hoping the Pats don't stay where they are. Package something and move up? What do I know, they'll prolly trade back again.

I'm glad I didn't get my hopes up on Cyprien. Good pick, Jags.
