But I still have a hard time with anyone putting a CBS show anywhere in their list.
I've been home with my parents for the last week or so and they watch, almost exclusively, CBS shows, so I've been seeing a lot of this shit. The punchline to the Big Bang Theory this week was "sexual harassment," as in, gosh, isn't it funny when straight white men get accused of sexual harassment and then accidentally refer to women as slaves? Hysterical. Great work.

And then Two and a Half Men came on so I just left the room.

HIMYM may have lost a step or two (I personally thought Season Seven was one of their best, while this current season is real hit/miss) at it's best it is one of the best sitcoms on TV.

From a humor standpoint it's often a bit obvious/canned, but it's a great character show. And it knows how to deliver fresh surprises. It has some heavy flaws, like all sitcoms. But it also has a real universal, human quality that draws people in. I love it.

And since I haven't seen shows like Justified, Boardwalk Empire, The Walking Dead, Archer and Homeland, HIMYM definitely deserves a spot in my top 10. Maybe those other shows are better. But I have no way of knowing.

Didn't really get into the first season of Mad Men or Breaking Bad. I should probably re-visit those two.

Both are slow starters but they are worth it in my opinion. Two of the best written and acted shows on tv.

I'd say Breaking Bad is the exact opposite of a slow starter.

Maybe not slow starter in an action sense. Just incredibly depressing.

Seriously, that show is great. If there's one show to mimic, philosophically, I'd have to pick that one.
