I'm happy about this because it at least proves that they are willing to revisit old MP3-only stuff. This is one step closer to getting a lossless Philly 2005.

I appreciate that they're going back and fixing the mp3-only gaffe, but with only one of these releases coming out per year it's difficult not to be a little underwhelmed by this, and I can't imagine why they would take until January to ship -- especially since the regular official boots are mixed, pressed, and sitting on your doorstep a month or two after the show. I dunno, the overall message I get from 10C via these Vault releases is an increasing level of disengagement -- unimaginative (and not necessarily top-shelf) show selections, absurd shipping times, inferior physical product. For the official boots the old slap-a-sticker-on-'em-and-in-the-mailbox-they-go approach seems fine enough, but I wish greater care was being taken with these "legacy" releases. I maintain that what PJ really needs is someone spearheading this "vault" project who really knows what they're doing and cares about getting this stuff out there -- someone who has favorite shows, favorite eras, an ear for good performances, etc -- and license to get them out at a greater clip. Maybe it's just the absence of fawning liner notes accompanying these recordings, but I can't think of any other artist's archival release arrangement that has felt like such an obligatory, passionless slog for its curators, whoever they are -- it kind of just seems like 10C's website auto-generates one of these things every summer, with nothing to suggest that anyone affiliated with the band could give a fuck about them either way. I'm sure that's not the case, but man -- it's tough to pick up one of those Dylan or Miles Davis bootleg series sets and really feel like I'm getting my money's worth with PJ.

I'd hazard a guess that the lengthy time between order and shipping reflects the current delays and quality issues that seem to invariably strike vinyl pressing runs in recent years.

Yeah, I see this as quite a cheering development.

I'd be thrilled to finally see the 2005 bootlegs available in FLAC.

i just bought the FM recording on vinyl from Let them eat vinyl for $30 or so, so I don't think I need this. Ironically I think that it was just released last week.

The official release will sound a great deal better (if that's a factor for you).

Assuming this is not mp3 sourced.

It's such a small thing, but the existence of liner notes/show memories would greatly increase the likelihood that I buy one of these things. I used to be a total completist about this stuff, but the existence of entire tours post 2000 has made one offs like this seem less essential. Anything that would distinguish this from a normal bootleg would help tremendously.

Re-releasing an already quasi-released show seemed like a waste, but seeing BiH support has has me reconsidering.

It's an incomplete rerelease of an incomplete release. What's worse is the official site set list page doesn't even list the missing song.

The timeframe doesn't bother me much as long as they stick to it. It's funny how long it takes, but it will be an epic fail if, after all this, they fail to deliver the vinyl in January.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

The last two records I pre-ordered from artists sites, were both delayed. The first arrived almost two months after it was initially slated and the other I'm still waiting on, has been delayed a month and a half.

Telling me January is fine. I'd rather know I have to wait than be told it'll come soon and then be delayed.

But I'm not getting this. It's an expensive thing to throw on a shelf and never listen to.

I feel the same..its really nice to have a very cool show like this on vinyl, but for this price i prefer something i haven't heard a lot.
I mean there was already a very cool sounding source out there...

Still, i would adore to have some liner notes, a booklet of some form. Maybe in the cd edition alone, but something.

Hardly seems like a good reason to delay the CD and FLAC options, though. There certainly weren't the same issues with the Vic or Constitution Hall CD's -- those both came within weeks of ordering them. I struggle to understand what's different about this.

I don't mean to be overly cynical about this -- it's nice that they've kept up with the vault releases. It just increasingly seems like not a lot of care goes into them.

I'm gonna get this just bc I started getting the others, and want to keep up with the vault series. I'M THE REASON THEY KEEP DOING THIS :shake: But, I completely agree that I wish it was a more rounded piece with liner notes and inside artwork. I like that the series is consistent with the black cover and typewriter, but the inside would be a fun place to make each of these unique.

I figure the further into this they go, the more valuable my Vault #1 is. I like to think that right now there is a six year old who doesn't even know who Pearl Jam is, but in fifteen or so years he will buy Vault #20: New York 7/8/03 and be like "NOW I NEED TO OWN ALL OF THEM" and he'll drop like a grand on my copy of Vault #1 that is sitting somewhere in my parents' garage.

So I hope they keep releasing these.

I shelled out some coin on this, but almost immediately started questioning that decision. Like Bodysnatcher - I mainly got it cause I've bought the other Vault vinyls
