RETIRED - The all inclusive video game thread

Okay, I just bought an xbox 360. It came with forza 4 and an arkham city download. I bought the damn thing so my boys 8 and 5 could play minecraft and the upcoming jurassic park lego game on it, but old feelings are rushing back. Help me. What games do I absolutely need? I don't plan on going online, really. Here are my initial thoughts:

1) i just ordered hitman absolution for $9. Used to love those. Is it good?
2) gta V, right? Last i played was vice city.
3) resident evil 5? Last I played was 4.
4) which call of duty is best?
5) which assassins creed? Black flag looks cool.
6) red dead redemption?
7) dead island?
8) which halo? I have played none.
What about for my kids? Are there any good dinosaur hunting games? Can they play batman or call of duty? Halo? I don't mind violence, but i don't want f-bombs and shit.

2) I think IV is better, but V probably makes more sense if you haven't played IV already. It's more impressive in terms of tech and size.
4) Modern Warfare 2, but MW1, Ghosts, and Advanced Warfare are all also great.
5) Definitely Black Flag. Especially if you're at all interested in playing as a pirate.
6) RDR is very good.

COD has swearing. They're basically R-rated action movies.

Lots of Fallout 4 rumblings this week. I imagine it'll be a holiday season 2015 release, so plenty of time to save up for a PS4. I can rest a baby on my elbow for some Wasteland exploring, right?

I just started the Witcher 3. Impressed. It seems like Skyrim on 'roids so far.

I'm on the fence about whether to pick up Elder Scrolls Online when it comes out for the consoles next month. Reading online it seems as though you can play through most of it solo, but that there will be other players around that will be doing their own quests simultaneously. Any PC gamers played this yet, and any of you console guys going to get it?

is there anyone who played inquisition and is now playing witcher 3 that can compare them for me? does witcher 3 have the same filler problem? are the characters and narrative more/less interesting? help me out here

I haven't started Witcher 3 yet (trying to get through 1 and 2 first), but from what I've read a lot of the side quests have their own unrelated, but very good narratives/choices that are more substantial than the normal DA:I go here, kill this, go back, turn in formula.

Some reviews have even preferred the side quest mini-narratives to the main story, so it sounds like doing the off the beaten path stuff is totally worth it.

The new Donkey Kong Tropical Breeze or whatever is pretty fun.

Come to think of it, don't buy it. My kid doesn't play it anymore, I'll send it to you.

I know it's an older game, but I am really liking half life 2. Crossing under the bridge was great.
