I haven't seen a single movie he's directed. I've seen a couple that he's written and I haven't been a very big fan of any of those. :?

It is!

But I haven't seen it. Looked pretty good though. And End of Watch has been on my list forEVER. I really need to get around to watching that thing.

Haven't seen Street Kings. I gotta get on that. And I think his filmography has been sketchy so far (Harsh Times and Sabotage are bad), but I thought Fury was great (yes, it's the Brad Pitt movie) and I have a hunch he's really going to come into his own with Suicide Squad, which looks crazy and confident in all the right ways.

What in 2 or 3 pictures we've seen possibly gives you that idea/confidence?

i think the costume/make-up/general aesthetic choices with characters like the joker and harley quinn show serious balls and personality. ayer is clearly going to be making a bold statement with this movie

Ah. On that we agree. I just hope it's an entertaining and worthwhile statement.

I could probably name a few movies that have great costumes/outfits/whatever but fell flat.

sure, this is definitely far from a sure thing. i just think the choices made in the early pictures seem indicative of a general attitude that makes me excited for the project

Is there going to be a General Schrieve in this? Or was he just with the Creature Commandos? Because you know, LV, Marc Singer plays him on Arrow.
