I'm with you. Letterman lost a lot of his edge over the last decade, but the shows these last few months have been fantastic.

I can't stand him. He was lazy and boring fo rmost of his CBS stint. But it was nice after he announced his retirement and started having on old timers and people he wanted to have on, regardless of the ratings. Its unfortunate that his show only stopped sucking when he decided to quit.

well that was really nice...its hard to be exited with a song like Betterman, i mean i love it but im really tired with it...but i thought it was really nice and Ed seemed so into it.
I realize he is now the rock star icon everybody wanted him to be in the 90s and thats nice. I really like that.

The performance was fine by me. I always enjoy when someone from the band is on tv. And I try and view PJ more from an outsiders point of view now, which is hard bc we know so many details, have heard so many performances. We have a very skewed viewpoint. From that, the performance was fine. Guaranteed 98% of people watching were thinking, "woah awesome, Eddie vedder! This is so cool!" And it wasn't a performance for us, it was a performance for Dave and his band. And they seemed like they were thoroughly happy.

That's the irritating thing is that his slower, lower stuff can be so on point (eg. solo shows)

I'm back and I'll be honest.... that performance. That one. There. It brought me.. back. I'm back on board. Ed and the Letterman band , they brought me back. But, mostly Ed's amazing performance of Betterman. Wow was that good. Amaz----zin'!
