He is not very good but makes me laugh with his shenanigans. Of course It's been a few years since I have heard him.

I miss Extra Innings.

I like the Remy shtick, most people here are tired of it and his son murdering people hasn't helped his cause, but I still like him.

I just heard about that a few months ago. Geez.

Do any ex players do your pre/post games?

Tim Wakefield, Eck. When Remy retires, I hope Eck takes his place.

So that answers my first question, but not the second...
Pre and post game shows, a Boston centric sports newscast, etc. I don't even like NESN, but if I moved out of town I'd probably get it for those things.
Don't forget the mad fisherman!
When my wife gets mad at me, she puts on NESN Dining Playbook and hides the remote.

There's Jim Rice who's awful, and Eck who's fantastic.

I always forget Eck was a Red Sock. He was pretty good on TBS.

Eck is awesome.

We have Eck, Jim Rice, Wakefield, and Steve Lyons on the pre/posts. Eck and Lyons fill in for Remy when he's gone usually. Rice is almost completet incoherent and rarely makes any sense.

I never watch NESN for anything but the games. As soon as the Sox end I immediately switch to MLB Network.

Lyons was just so overly critical about everything anyone did, like he's got a knowledge of the game that surpasses our understanding. I like how Remy can offer an insider knowledge of the game, but is more than willing to admit that he was, at best, a middle-of-the-road player. I want to know who the hell voted for him to enter the Hall: http://www.baseball-reference.com/awards/hof_1990.shtml

It depends for me, if the Sox game was a good game, or REALLY bad and Eck is the one on the post game, I'll stick.

I didn't mind Lyons last year, but this year he's just talking straight ragtime.

You must be the only person that remembers him for something other than pulling his pants down.

Buster Posey did that in college.
