care to mention the three? I'm so hopelessly out of the loop at the moment.
Sure!

1. I Love You, Honeybear - Father John Misty
2. No Cities to Love - Sleater-Kinney

(these are two monster records that I just can't see being surpassed this year)

3. What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World - The Decemberists

(my favorite of theirs since 06's The Crane Wife, and probably my 3rd overall fav by them)
Hey I have heard a new album this year. The SK was pretty good from memory. I'll have to revisit it soon. The new Laura Marling is waiting for me too.

Cheers man. I'll check FJM out.

maybe part of why i'm underwhelmed was because there were so many good albums last year. so far this year the two big ones i was interested in were reunion albums that both wound up leaving little impression.

I Love You, Honeybear and No Cities to Love are both great.
My Morning Jacket's new one is really good.

Torres' Sprinter is just an awesome sophomore effort from my new favorite young artist.

Pond's Man It Feels Like Space Again is great for fans of Tame Impala fans.

Of course, Black Messiah gobbled up almost the entirety of my music listening for January with it being a December release and also one of the best albums I've ever heard.

I know I'm forgetting a few.

I have this downloaded but I haven't given it a spin yet. I need to get on that.

I was never into them. So I kinda forgot they had a new one.

2015 has been great for me and we're not even half way through!

Great Record:
Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell

Very good records:
Björk - Vulnicura
Courtney Barnett - Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit
Torres - Sprinter
Waxahatchee - Ivy Tripp
The Decemberists - WATWWABW
Father John Misty - I Love You, Honeybear
Natalia Lafourcade - Hasta la raíz
Sleater-Kinney - No Cities To Love

Good but disappointing because they used to be great:
Tallest Man and Modest Mouse

Pretty stacked already and there's a lot I've been meaning to check out, still.

Sitting comfortably at #4 on my list this year. Such a great record. I should give it more attention.

Yep.

You should just embrace it, accept it and move on. Otherwise you'll give yourself an ulcer.

I sure hope so.

I'll never like Kanye West or any of his absurd nicknames, but I'll always like you, J. :heartbeat:

It's been a fairly median year for me so far. Several albums I was excited about haven't made an impression on me; Panda Bear, Inventions, Matana Roberts for example.

On the other hand, there are a few albums that I'm sure will feature highly in my end of year listings; Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Cluttertones, Colin Stetson & Sarah Neufeld, and Suuns and Jerusalem in My Heart.

Yeah, it's only about a month old. What do you think about it? I feel pretty alone in my appreciation of it. They're playing a concert here in 2 weeks but no one wants to go with me. :gomez:

I through in on my Spotify in late April based on Supernintendochalmers' recommendation. So, you're definitely not the only one loving it. But for some reason I thought it came out at the end of last year and I was just super late to the show.

Anyway, I dig it.
