Yeah Hell's Kitchen is no longer the grim-and-gritty setting it was in the 70s. It's an affluent, gentrified neighborhood. But I thought the way they got around that was clever: the area was devastated by the events in The Avengers, and crime is rising during the reconstruction. That I don't have a problem with. It just irks me how the characters and newspapers and TV reporters on the show constantly refer to "Hell's Kitchen" as if it was the entire city. "This is not the Hell's Kitchen I grew up in!". Come on.

I loved the look and feel of the show. It felt organically gritty. Daredevil's actual costume, once revelaed, wasn't great.

it's like the look is too good, because every episode just ends up looking the same. it's tedious.

Daredevil won't be in Civil War, might have his own movie eventually

To be totally fair, most of those are inherent to the genre. My problems with the show don't really have anything to do with that.

I thought this show was better than most of the Marvel movies, which I enjoy to varying degrees.

Chapters 3 and 4 were really good. I like how kingpin is brought to the story...and there is a really good character there...i actually like that this show seems to take care of all of the characters and not only daredevil or murdock.
and the violence is top notch.

From "watching" this show while my roommates are watching it and I'm making food or whatever, D'Onofrio's Kingpin always sucks me in and I have to see his whole scene. It's great casting and a great performance.

Apparently, they're casting Elektra for season 2.

Finally finished season 1 so now I can read this thread.. liked the show a lot..
Spoiler: show
wondering what they'll do going into season 2..

Because they mentioned owlsleys kid a million times, I'm figuring he'll be the owl n go into some gang war w the kingpin being he has a ton of his money

Fisk will prob meet bullseye in prison n end up hiring him

Crossover w iron fist to fight madame gao, who is prob crane mother.. throw in steel serpent (ss logo was on the heroin bags)

The punisher!!

Also randomly, kinda bummed they killed off wesley
