Eddie's voice was stronger on the Europe and first North American legs, but the second North American leg may be the tightest this band has ever played. I just love the effortless energy of some of those shows--Chicago, STL, Kansas City, the Houston gigs. They sound completely organic but also very precise mechanically--truly the band firing on all cylinders.

I think the only other times the band has been that in the pocket have been March-April 1994, and the European and Aussie legs of the 2006 tour.

Whenever I reach for a 2000 show these days, it's almost always from October. In addition to those Kevin listed, there's also Albuquerque, Lubbock and Detroit. All great.

That Lubbock show was the best. I don't think I have ever seen the band so happy and on top of its game at the same time. That crowd knew they were lucky to have PJ in their town and the band really fed off that.
The band was amazing. The crowd was great. It was killer.

Reupped all 72 of the 2000 tour bootlegs. All are at a bitrate of at least 256kbps and about a dozen of them (the ones from my own personal discs) are at 320kbps:

I absolutely adore the Portland show on this leg. When I made my 2000 mix, Portland got like 7 songs. It's just a great show that gets overshadowed by some of the others from this leg but man...it's so, so great.

Lubbock's versions of "Porch" and "Black" are both of the "best ev-ah" variety.

Can't comment directly on Porch, but I completely agree with Black. The spaceship landing effect McCready does with the delay is really awesome. He also kept that around for a few of the 03 solos and it's every bit as sweet.

"Spin the Black Circle" from Saratoga is about the best thing ever. It's easily the best live version from the Matt Cameron era I've heard and maybe the best period. Actually, all the Vitalogy tracks from the 2000 tour sound amazing. There's something about the dark energy of the 2000 era that suits the Vitalogy material really well. My favorite ever versions of "Better Man", "Immortality" and "Whipping" also come from this tour, and there are some outstanding versions of "Tremor Christ", "Nothingman" and "Not For You" as well.
