Looks like the record is done. No new songs on YouTube but I heard a bit of Down By The River and Walk On and the band sounds tighter with him than earlier in the year.
The man is inhuman, he just keeps going and going. The quality of the material matters little to me at this point; it's all bonus.

edit: there's a 20 sec clip of a new song in the article. Fairly infectious country rock hook.

FITR is as bad as any album Neil has made. I have higher hopes for this because the song that Neil wrote with Lukas Nelson in 2012 (Singer Without A Song) is pretty melodically interesting. Hopefully that influence continues.

I heard the songs (he premiered "The Monsanto Years", a film in progress in NYC the other night). There are a few nice melodies. Lukas handles most of the lead work, which makes the jams pretty forgettable. This might be the worst record he's made yet.

That is the boldest statement I have ever heard. And I love it cause it could be true.

In the Unpopular Music Opinions thread we were talking about "top Young" songs. KD said his top 3 (off the top of his head) were Thrasher, Revolution Blues and I'm the Ocean.

Mine would be (again off the top of my head): Cinnamon Girl, Down by the River and Only Love Can Break Your Heart.

My all-time favorite, never to be supplanted, #1 Neil Young song is Cortez the Killer.

Down by the River and Cowgirl in the Sand are always floating near the top.

My other current favorites would be Don't Cry No Tears and When you Dance....

I love a LOT of Neil Young songs but I never liked "Cowgirl In The Sand" at all. It's pretty mediocre.
