So last night I got to try Makers 46, Talisker 10, Ardbeg and Macallan fine oak 15.
The Macallan 15 was an easy favorite but they were all enjoyable. Ardbeg is pretty similar to Bunnahabhain
The Talisker reminded me a bit of Oban

i've never had high west, because, you know, i don't have an adult palate when it comes to brown liquor. but every stout and barleywine aged in high west barrels that i've had have been incredible.

tragabigzanda wrote: We were gifted a bottle of High West Barreled Manhattan for Xmas. It purports to be a Manhattan cocktail in a bottle, but it drinks somewhat different than that. It's at the same time more woody, presumably from the barreling, and somehow brighter than a typical Manhattan.
And just to be clear, it's absolutely delicious and dangerously drinkable. But I wouldn't call it a Manhattan.
I always wondered how these were. Do you drink it over ice, I presume?
