Well that escalated quickly. After the theatrics he put on earlier maybe he's being closed in upon.

Oh, and I'm hoping that "Bud Light Lime" starts trending on Twitter soon.

EDIT: Yes.

Question for the experts: will replacing Blatter make a real difference, or will it just be "meet the new boss, same as the old boss"?

it will make a difference, because the US is arresting everybody now. they gotta play straight or they are gonna get arrested.

i bet the US gets this Valcke guy to turn on Blatter.

then the jade monkey will be ours

muaahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

now all we gotta do is get all those american middle class/upper class white guys who no longer want to play pro/college football due to concern over brain injuries to start playing futbol instead

How does the whole 'on loan' thing work?

Basically you just get to borrow the player for a season or month or whatever. A lot of times clubs do this to develop a young talent that isnt quite ready for first team minutes.

They can get complicated. Sometimes the team loaning the player will cover the players wage and other times the team taking on the player will cover the wage or part of it. Also, a team can include a buy back - for example we'll loan you this dude for 2 seasons and if we don't buy him back for x amount of money he will be your permanent player. Then you have the loan with an option to buy. In short they can get crazy.

Thx guys....I was a little confused on how Tom Cleverley was under contract with Man U but played for Villa and now is signing Everton. I sort of figured a club would only loan players to teams outside of their league to avoid the possibly of losing a game because a guy who they have under contract who plays with another team scores a game winning goal on them.

I think what I learned most today is Italian men really like the tee shirt tucked into the jeans look. Tighter the better.

Someone I went to high school with spent $5000 to travel to Berlin for the final, and made sure everyone on Facebook knew he had the money to do so. Luckily, he was rooting for Juventus.

It could have been worth it. At least they were competitive. But he sounds a cock.

Plus a holiday in Berlin.

The Dutch and the USA both fielded super young center backs and it showed. Big time. And I don't think the Dutch fielded a defensive midfielder.

I am excited about the potential of Bobby Wood and Jordan Morris. Morris has that combo of strength and speed you don't see in soccer very often.

There have been a couple of decent matches in the Women's World Cup. It's good that it's got full coverage here on one of the free to air networks.
