Garlic (anything)

Post by Jorge »

I like garlic. Let's use this thread to discuss our favorite garlic-based or garlic-containing or garlic-adjacent foods.

In Ecuador I once had this roast chicken that was coated with this weird garlic paste I'd never encountered before or since. It was heavenly.

Garlic mashed potatoes are also nice.

I'll eat garlic in just about anything that isn't a dessert. And maybe even some desserts, too.

I like it but I'm not a fiend like some people. Things like whole roasted cloves on pizza are a bit much for me.

Once, I was watching my sister in law make garlic mashed potatoes and I was all "that's a lot of garlic, you might want to go easy and not use too much". Her reply, and everyone else agreed with her, was "you can never have too much garlic".

One bite and we all agreed there was too much garlic.

Don't do it.
I grew up next to, and briefly lived in, Gilroy,Ca-the garlic capital of the world. Garlic is fantastic in virtually any food. However, I have tried garlic ice cream at the Garlic Festival, and it was straight nasty.

And nothing beats a roasted clove of garlic- totally changes the consistency and flavor...mmmmmmmm

I'm gonna try to make this tonight. Seems simple enough, and it's more than worth it.
