I'd be fine if that was a one-shot deal....I'd also be fine if Ed and Jeff do it themselves. In the end, I look at the artwork for about a week, mostly to read lyrics, and then it's just the music.

i liked his worked in backspacer but i want the band to do a different thing now.

The artwork was not the problem with Backspacer. I enjoyed it.

I have a laundry list of people I'd love to see do album art. But from what I've heard and know, Ed and Jeff really enjoy the process of creating visuals, so they usually have a pretty big input. Not sure if they have the same interest as past albums? Fairly certain the other guys just sign off on whatever they come up with.

It's just me but it being their tenth record, I'd like to think they'll really go and so something special for the artwork. It's a big part of it for me.

that was embarrassing. And makes me believe Ed/Jeff aren't as involved or passionate about it anymore. Especially this:

McCready said, "That symbolizes just kind of ... Ed's at the end of the process and said, for all I care right now, we've done such a good job on this record, and we're kind of tired from it. Let's throw an avocado on the cover. I think that's what happened, and our art director goes, hey, that's not a bad idea. I think we were watching the Super Bowl, and we had some guacamole or something."

It was like clip art from PowerPoint. And if it had any relationship to the artwork in the booklet, I've yet to find out what it was. Though there was a version of the cover wit a brown background which made slightly more sense. Slightly.

and i liked the artwork on the inside and the different cd depending on where you bought it.

i liked Apodaca´s work...the booklet artwork. Its different, the first time they showed themselves doing a different thing rather than at studio, or blurry pics.

I dont want another one like Avocado, but the booklet art is better than RA in my opinion.

i've liked every album's packaging and artwork except that damn avocado picture.
