I wasn't disappointed last night...loved Jon Snow, but he let the enemy in in an attempt to fend off the white walkers, and I just don't think the wildlings were gonna help enough to justify it.

I think part of the point was that Jon didn't expect the wildlings to fight; he saved them because they would've died beyond the Wall.

He was the ultimate badass. The show never really got into how fucking brilliant of a fighter he really was. But, yeah, mine was probably an exaggeration. But it would've been a damn good fight.

Man, everything with Stannis was so rushed and anti-climatic in the worst way. Oh, half your man are gone, oh, your wife is dead, oh, Melisandre is gone, oh, this isn't a siege at all! Here's Stannis conveniently surviving so that Brienne's arc makes any sense this season. Guess burning your daughter was pretty pointless. At least it was shocking. I did get nothing out of that except for disappointment.
Sansa's arc was pretty stupid too. All that Littlefinger talk about revenge and then she does nothing of consequence at all except being tortured by Ramsay. Cool. Maybe she's pregnant so she can suffer some more next season.
And let's just not talk about Dorne.

I expected a lot of despondency, but I didn't expect so much outright hate for this episode. I'm surprised how many people are calling it "poorly written" or even the "worst episode of tv I've seen." So far, "meh" has been encouraging.

I thought it was a pretty fantastic episode.

I still think that Brienne swung that sword the wrong way to execute Stannis. He was against a tree, looking up and to the left at Brienne. She swung right to left. Either she's ruthless and wanted to just slice his throat open, she hits the tree, or she was swinging at something else. Either way, even if Stannis was alive, there's nothing left for him in the world.

I honestly thought the same thing after watching that scene. It just didn't look right at all.

Same, overall I thought it was excellent.

But, any reason why they couldn't do a 2 hr finale? Some of the scenes, like Stannis', were a little rushed, and others, like Cersei's shaming walk were a tad long. I mean, its HBO's most popular program and driving subscription force by far. They really jammed a lot in that hour. Is production cost the reason?

I really liked how quickly shit feel apart for Stannis. He played it so SO fucking well. And I enjoy the ambiguity of his final moment, too. Really well done, I thought.
