See, I think this is passive/aggressive... still trying to convince yourself that The Binaural era was the culmination of their creativity... when deep down, you know they were at their creative peak in 1994...

Vitalogy may have something to say about this statement, but I completely agree... sorta.

I always thought SoH felt abruptly out of place, but I still love it... for me, Binaural was a great swansong for the band I loved so much in my formative years.

I always thought they nailed the muscular/alternative approach of a song here on vs. And they left it here because on vitalogy they are a garage band.
its amazing how different pj sounds from one álbum to the next one.

Whipping, for sure. Habit, maybe. And just for fun, I'd LOVE to hear VS era Pearl Jam do Mind Your Manners.

Whipping and MYM are great choices. Habit is such a frothy mess I don't know that it would work on Vs, which is so tightly coiled.

Which is why I said, maybe. As we all know, I'm not a big fan of Habit. I'd love to hear a more tightly coiled and precise version of the song. And it would certainly have different lyrics on VS.

Is the Vs. equivalent of habit closer to Go or Leash?

Probably Leash, but the potential is there for Go. Which is why I'd love to hear it.

Vs is a pretty tight bunch of songs. They don't really belong anywhere else and they aren't very inclusive to other material. Whipping of course As it was recorded during those sessions.

At a stretch I'd say Rival. Not that there's anything missing from the take we know, just that a Dave A version could be either phenomenal or completely trite. And thematically it would fit on side B.

Jeremy is so much better than Leash that it hurts.

Sure is. But Vs needs Leash (or Whipping) in the #11 spot.
