maybe it's just the fact that the back 1/3rd of agents of shield just got really good, but the new trailer actually has me pretty excited for this movie. I laughed at the train derailing.

If this ends up being good and batman/superman is not everyone in DC's film division should probably just call it quits.

I get the impression that no one in the world is excited for this.

That's not true. My best friend's 7 year old son says that ant man is his favorite super hero. I asked him why.

'He shrinks and he talks to ants'

Can't argue with that.

My 8 year old is dying to see it. I'm trying everything I can to put it off till he can watch it at home but I'm not sure he will be denied.

Remember though that the first trailer for Guardians got a lot of people really excited for it. The overall reaction to the first Ant-Man trailer was closer to "huh."

This will probably be a pretty big success, weird marketing notwithstanding.

relying on reddit threads for validating your point is like relying on an RM thread to validate your point.

Reddit is the most popular content aggregator on the Internet, so it's germane to the conversation about the overall hype levels of a movie.

I would be surprised if Ant Man was anything more than a moderate hit with it more likely under performing. That's not a comment on the quality of the movie just its ability to earn. I think they overstepped with this one. GOTG was an unknown property outside of the comic world but it had everything you'd want in a big summer movie. Ant-Man feels like a CW show on the big screen. Unless its hilarious I can't see the character and his powers as a draw. Dr. Strange is going to be iffy too.
