That new album is God awful in parts. SP were top 5 band of the 90's IMO, but since Machina it's been downhill and fast.

Can someone link the video of me ranting about Billy's wresting commercial from like 6 or 7 years ago? Also yes they still suck with the new shit.

Acoustic show in KC. I love the set list. It's been the same every show thus far minus like 1-2 songs here and there. Very pumped.

I wish i could see it. The setlist seems pretty amazing, he is playing For Martha and Behold the nightmare two of my favorite Pumpkins songs.BigRedLedbetter wrote:Acoustic show in KC. I love the set list. It's been the same every show thus far minus like 1-2 songs here and there. Very pumped.

If Jimmy is clean I could see him coming back as well. Him and Billy get along great from what I have heard. Plus, Jimmy is a gifted drummer.
From the show I went to Monday.

That's great, even if it's only for one tour (at this stage, anyway).gardenparty wrote:Chamberlin touring with the band

Kind of funny to have a 'classic' member of a band roped in as a temporary fill-in for the hired hands that act as their replacement.

Jimmy is one of my favorite drummers of all-time. I was luke warm about going to the Pumpkins/Manson tour (just not a Manson fan) but now I'd really like to go.

That's good news about Jimmy. That would make me travel to Toronto or Boston to catch the show actually. Hmmm...

heading out to the 'acoustic-electro' show here in a bit. hope it's good.
love the jimmy news. makes me wonder how much of the more recent stuff he didn't play on that they'll try to do (if any).

Interested to hear what you thought of it. I for one love the setlists they are playing.AndySlash wrote:heading out to the 'acoustic-electro' show here in a bit. hope it's good.

Re: generic smashing pumpkins thread
the show last night i felt was pretty special among the shows i've seen. hadn't paid much attention to the feedback for the shows on the tour, but i did see the setlist so kind of knew what to expect song-wise. i'd yet to ever hear a few of the songs on the set, but for me prairie song really stood out.BigRedLedbetter wrote:Interested to hear what you thought of it. my biggest worry was that the crowd would be annoying as fuck, but perhaps this one- being the end of the tour and in a 1,000 seat theater where the people who were there had to have WANTED to be there- was actually full of fans who cared about what he was playing. it was dead silent in many spots, with the whooping and applause saved for the end of the songs.
i've honestly never seen corgan so happy on stage as i did last night. definitely a memorable show, and despite being relatively indifferent to the goings-on in pumpkinland over the last several years, it was good to feel a little bit of that excitement once again. i really hope he does more of these. he said near the end it was one of if not the best tours he's ever done, so i can see it happening. and if he does, definitely find a way to go.

Glad you enjoyed it. I thought it would be good but it was way better than I expected. I really liked the Zwan songs they played. A New Poetry was a great first encore closer. I hope some good boots surface.AndySlash wrote:the show last night i felt was pretty special among the shows i've seen. hadn't paid much attention to the feedback for the shows on the tour, but i did see the setlist so kind of knew what to expect song-wise. i'd yet to ever hear a few of the songs on the set, but for me prairie song really stood out.BigRedLedbetter wrote:Interested to hear what you thought of it. Re: generic smashing pumpkins thread
Maybe he figures that the SP name isnt carring him anymore and puts a solo career at last. Because if he is playing songs from zwan and his solo album...
I would love to see this tour. And im exited about the manson tour with jimmy.
