I love it, but I love that style of music. Most of the longtime Dylan guys I know are pretty split on it.

i like it a lot. while it's a pretty even sounding record (no real musical highs/lows, all slow to mid-tempo ballads), dylan's singing is clearly inspired and the band/dylan give the songs the feel of listening to them alone on a foggy, lamplit street. it's a beautiful record. i'm enjoying it more than any dylan album since time out of mind.
ah, copperplate, a font for the truly modern man.

The second half is so funny. The interviews are great where he just fucks with people. I can't get over how much he was booed.

So I've not listened to much Dylan. Had a quiet evening and decided to listen to Blonde on Blonde and Blood on the Tracks.

Blonde on Blonde was good but I think I liked Blood on the Tracks more. Obviously quite a sad record, makes me think of the last break-up I had. Dylan summed it all up rather eloquently.

I heard a couple of his earliest records a few years back, but I'm completely unfamiliar with most of his post-70s work. What are the best ones to check out?

I heard "Most of the Time" tonight and LOVED it.

Time Out of Mind, Oh Mercy and Love & Theft are all great albums. Most of the Time probably makes my top 10 Dylan song. Maybe top 5.

As far as Blood on the Tracks it's Dylan's songwriting at it's best IMHO.
