I mean, yeah, I understand WHY this is being made. But this series has been floundering artistically after 2, and frankly, I don't think it's possible to do it better than Raimi's first two movies. He already got it right, there's no need for more.

there is so much more that can be hit upon. as well as sams were i have no doubt someone will come along and do it better, just as someone will do batman better than nolan, avengers better than joss and scooby doo better than raja gosnell

I hope you're right. Avengers and Batman will be easy to do better (other directors already have done the latter better than Nolan), but Spidey...I'm doubtful. Especially with Marvel running the show now.

More specifically, it's not just that no one will do it better, but also no one is going to do it very differently. The series has become exhaustingly repetitive, and Marvel is only going to make things more homogenous.
