Since you're from Ireland, I'll give you this quote to have a hearty laugh at.dimejinky99 wrote:Ah go on then.. Who is Mike buckabee?
Mike Huckabee wrote:The Supreme Court has spoken with a very divided voice on something only the Supreme Being can do — redefine marriage. I will not acquiesce to an imperial court any more than our Founders acquiesced to an imperial British monarch. ... The Supreme Court can no more repeal the laws of nature and nature's God on marriage than it can the laws of gravity.

Man alive. This issue really clearly draws a line between the sane and insane. I believe this is what the beginning of the Civil War felt like if there was facebook then.
Mississippi Attorny General sames same-sex marriage will be delayed in state"
Ken Paxton: Texas Attorney General says supreme court ruling does not change definition...
etc...etc...
Hey guys, black people have to be treated like human beings.

I realize I'm double posting this, but it could equally go in either thread.

I guess it was time.

Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I haven't found a logical reason yet to be upset that Gay people can be married by and treated the same as straight people in the eyes of the law.
Thank God we don't live in a Theocracy

Re: Same-Sex Marriage
The topic came up today at lunch with my parents. My dad is very conservative & super Southern Baptist. The conversation ended with him in tears, convinced that our country has turned its back to God and telling me he's worried for my salvation just because I'm okay with two guys getting married. It was a real eye opening experience; I can't imagine what it would be like having to come out as gay to someone who genuinely feels that way.

I love how this whole thing has really drawn a line in the sand between where this country is going and the kind of people who are going to continue fading into irrelevance. The Right's reaction is only making them look more and more unelectable, more and more out of touch with modern America. As Bill Maher said - the culture war is over and we won.

Wasn't the rainbow a sign that God would never judge men so harshly again? It was a promise that he would never again wipe out the world by drowning innocent babies and helpless animals who had done nothing.Biff Pocoroba wrote:
