I find the lyrics to Inside Job to be a little less abrasive than those of Big Wave for whatever reason.

Big Wave would have been an awesome instrumental, as it showcases how time of a band they are.

Eh, I think most of us are Pearl Jam fans to some extent or another. Most of us just have a hard time with certain albums, though. Stip, of all people, should be able to relate. After all, he dislikes all of the albums between Vitalogy and Avocado. The rest of us seem to think their weaker period is more recent.

It's ok though, the guitarist wrote them so they don't have to be any good!

Lyrics never have to be great, but "Inside Job" contains some of the most embarrassing lines I've ever heard.

Really? You must listen to some top notch shit 24/7 then. Because I've heard worse. Much, much worse.

I love inside job. Maybe because its a very emotional song, and it doesn't have to be clever or hip.
And the music is great.

Big Wave's lyrics are much more worthy of your scorn.

No they aren't. Big Wave's are supposed to be silly lyrics about surfing. Inside Job's are supposed to be super deep and about life, man.

Even if they are supposed to be silly, they're terrible.

Yeah, bad lyrics are much easier to swallow when they aren't meant to be super sincere. Inside Job easily has the worst lyrics of any Pearl Jam song (including Leash)

But it always comes back...

None of those songs have lyrics as offensively bad as "Inside Job"

If you are listening to a McCready penned tune for lyrics, I honestly don't know what to tell you.
