Had 6 Stone Delicious IPA's this weekend.

They have really improved the last year or so.

I bought a pack of this for a friend who avoids gluten.

Sucks to be a person who avoids gluten. It's very reminiscent of a Mike's Hard Lemonade, but beer flavored.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

So, North Carolina has a self-distribution cap of 25,000 barrels. After that, you have to contract with a distributor.

http://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/pr ... 5E17612312
“I’m going to be faced with a choice of rationing beer to customers or shrinking my territory,” says John Marrino, who founded Olde Mecklenburg in 2009.
That leaves Olde Mecklenburg and NoDa in a quandary. Both say they’ll max out next year — and hold production — at 24,999 barrels until the law is changed.
So, these breweries COULD sign with a distributor, sell more beer, and make more money, but they don't want to. While I understand their wish to control their own distribution, North Carolina has rejected an increase in that cap 8 times. Time to stop shooting yourself in the foot, sign with a distributor, and start making money.

There are bigger problems in the world.

This is perhaps the most frustrating part of the industry. The entire thing is anti capitalist bullshit built on decades upon decades of blue law puritanism. Oh, sure the people want it, sure, you can provide it for them, but lets install this middleman here, to make sure he gets his cut. The richest people in Alcohol are the fucking middlemen and the government. That's communism. That's how it works in practice. It's all greased palms and legal manipulation. There is absolutely no legitimate reason that there needs to be a separate distributor of that product. Anyone extolling the virtues of a 3 tiered system is profiting heavily from it.

I guess the State of Washington is just the wild wild west and people are killing themselves because...beer.

While I find that to be true, there's no way, as a brewer, I would just stop growing my brand to spite the distributors.

If I wanted to grow, and I had customers, I cut the deal and sell that beer.

Hyperbole.

Still, It's the government needlessly controlling a market through intermediaries.

Sure, absolutely, if they aren't, it's probably more because it's just not worth the extra hassle to them vs any kind of real crusade.

Really on a pilsner kick lately. Probably because it is so hot. I always have a prima pils in stock, but here is what else I've been enjoying:

Sierra Nevada Nooner Pils
Oskar Blues - Mama's Little Yellow Pils
Konig Pilsner (my favorite German pils)
Bavaria
Radeberger
Thomas Creek Dockside Pilsner

I love pilsners in the summer. My go to ones are: Prima Pils, Radeberger, and Weihenstephaner.

I've seen you mention the Konig before, but through casual looking, still haven't found that one yet. Will look out for it next time I'm in a decent beer store.

Cool. Usually if my local store doesn't have it they get it in within a week of me requesting it.
