Luckily I discovered Kiss The Stone and their other labels early on. Plus a WA/Perth store did a newsletter so I got that post 95.

My teen years were fun. Let's go get drunk and nostalgia out, Strat.

I love where im at now but what KD was talking about when it comes to discovering life and how everything was so important and life changing....that is something beautiful. We get old we get jaded. We question everything. We dont allow ourselves happiness without a fight.
I know that wont land for you as you are one to fall asleep at concerts out of boredom, but there is something about youthful energy that should be held on to.

I think my least favorite pre-PRAMG album is Vs. Maybe three songs I care about.

I think Vs is the band's best album.
Worst album of the pre-PRAMG period is Riot Act for me, I think it's a sliding scale from Binaural onwards.

I don't think many of the things that I like about Pearl Jam are represented in Vs, though "Go" and "Rearviewmirror" are among their best songs. I could do without hearing "Glorified G", "Rats", "Leash", "Blood", etc. for the rest of my life.

I love vs but I sort of agree, Plats. Those songs you mention are not the greatest compositions but the performances are outstanding. That album and Vitalogy performance wise are out of this world.

Re: My least favorite album
Stip was absolutely right. As soon as we had a new album to hate, people started to lighten up on Backspacer. Now LB is the whipping boy. This same thing happened with Binaural and Riot Act. I firmly believe when the new album comes out, people will find things to like about LB, even people who absolutely hate it now.LetMeSleep wrote:See I think they were pretty successful with Backspacer. The result isn't that far off the brief. And as a one off I have no problem with it. It's been said many times but if they'd followed it up rather quickly with something of substance, it wouldn't be such a statement. Instead we waited 4 years for LB which was a development in any way. It's a PJ equivalent of a cassette copy of a taped VHS recording of a tv signal with a dodgy antenna. (Man those were sad days.)

Re: My least favorite album
When it comes to Vs. I have a hard time ranking it real high, although when I look at the songs individually most of them I rank pretty high. Also, I don't think that the album isn't a cohesive album, so it's not like it's a collection of good songs that don't go well together, thus bringing the album down as a whole. I think what it is, is Dissident, WMA, Small Town, and Leash. Those 4 songs drag the album down, down, down.

WMA and Small Town are huge songs on the album for me. I look forward to them every time. I fucking love those songs.
