Yeah, fine, but both apply.

I'm a really open minded guy. And I really respect your thoughts and opinions. And I always welcome your POV and your input. But... even subjectively... I can't wrap my head around that.

Love ya, boo. But you cray-cray.
I almost includes lbolt on that list but I don't know if that's true

DcT, go que up Lightning Bolt, put on a pair of headphones, close your eyes, think about the moment you realized Annie Clark was the one, and press play. Then report back to me.

The fade out on Lightning Bolt (the song) kills any positive momentum it might have had...

I just don't understand Stip --- as a lyrics guy and a guy who hates Ed's obvious and trite lyrical metaphors (especially the tree stuff) -- how you can appreciate LB (the song) at all. It's his absolute worst "surf" song to date. Fine there's the anthem build to the music or whatever. But is that really enough? Their go-to trick? That works on you again here? Really?

That song is so good. I love the tempo shifts, the way the drums build on themselves and the vocal delivery on the build to the outro.

If you don't like this song, then I don't know what to tell you. I will agree the fade out is unnecessary.

I mean, I'm not above the sufer-dewd lyrics (AtW, Big Wave, these are fantastic songs in my book) but LB isn't even layered. It's not about anything else. It's a fucking commercial. It's a jingle.

It's probably the only one of these songs that does it for me, actually. UK doesn't seem finished and I don't really care for LBC

And it's no more a surf song than RVM is a song about driving habits

It's a masters class in anthem writing.

Although that fade is the single worst production decision in their catalog

No true. It's the exact opposite. It's actually more of a surf song than anything they've ever done. There is no metaphor here actually.
