I don't really think you can count Chloe Dancer.

I initially wasn't taken with Avocado but now it gets more listens than most. It's also the reissue I'm looking forward to the most.

Avocado needs the reissue the most. Binaural could be interesting too if done right.

I wish they'd just reissue up to Binaural at least and be done with it. If they try to tie in 20th anv for all of them it'll get tiresome.

Agree with both of these statements. By done right you must mean the allusive Tchad Blake mixes :heartbeat:

Here's my five, today anyway:

Go
Corduroy
Immortality
In My Tree
Sad

Tchad Blake mixes for sure. Original track listing too (amongst other things).

Update:

Rioat Act is still terribly dissapointing in spots. Would have made a killer EP!

Binaural. Especially after Yield I just found it terribly disappointing.

Then of course Lost Dogs comes out and you hear at least 2 or 3 great songs that would it make it so much better (Sad, Fatal, etc.)

I get this, friend. And welcome to the board. Binaural was my least favorite album for a long, long time. It was only within the last year and a half that it's climbed up my list and vacated that bottom spot. But it was difficult for me to get into a lot of that record when it first came out. I instantly loved Nothing As It Seems, Insignificance, Rival, Off the Girl, Thin Air and Sleight of Hand. Really dug Evacuation and Light Years. But the rest of the thing was kind of a drag. I never hated the album by any means. But it wasn't my favorite.

But, something clicked a while back. It's a pretty remarkable record. And it gets better the more I listen to it. And as pretentious and hipster as it sounds, hearing it on vinyl made a big difference for me. I'm sure many here will call me out on that. But so be it.

Yeah, I actually made my own Binaural mix after Lost Dogs came out and it became a whole lot more palatable to me. (I always hated Breakerfall as an opener. And as a song, truthfully.)

And I actually like the first half of Riot Act a lot. Cropduster and Thumbing My Way I think are very underrated.

I guess I didn't really dig Matt Cameron's songwriting at first with Binauraul (Evacuation has grown on me, but not much), but it was on Cropduster and later on Unemployable where I came to appreciate his different approach to songwriting.

Exactly. That's what I mean when I say I always liked the album, even when I had it ranked last. People had a hard time wrapping their heads around that for some reason. I'd say things like, "yeah, it's my least favorite PJ album, but I still think it's better than 80% of the music that's come out since." Or "The lows are just so low that it drags the whole down for me." But people still insisted that I hated the thing or that I was knocking the album. It was weird. Because I genuinely loved a good chunk of it.

Basically: I really didn't care for Breakerfall. I hated Gods' Dice (this was my least favorite PJ song for a while). I liked Evacuation well enough, but I didn't love it. The middle of the record is/was always great to me. Then Grievance, Soon Forget and Parting Ways really dragged it down again.

But, like I've said, I've really come around to loving it as a whole. A greater appreciation for PW, Gods' Dice and Evacuation have really helped it along.

Binaural

1. Breakerfall - Love it. Always have.
2. God's Dice - Not a big fan, I used to HATE this song. I don't hate it anymore, and occasionally find myself liking aspects enough to somewhat enjoy the song. I feel the same way about a song like Big Wave.
3. Evacuation - I also hated this song originally. It took years for me to give it much of a second thought after my initial distaste. Over the last few years I've grown to quite appreciate it. I think the last 30 seconds of the song is gold. This is still a middle of the pack song overall, but I like it 100X better today than I used to.
4. Light Years - Boring. I've never been able to get much enjoyment from Light Years. It doesn't move me in any way.
5. Nothing As It Seems - Wonderful song. Probably a top 20 track for me. This has also been a consistantly strong grower for me over the years. I think I would've initially rated it somewhere in he middle of the pack.
6. Thin Air - When Binaural was new, this was one of my favorite songs on the album. I don't feel that way anymore. It's an okay song, I guess, but I never seek it out.
7. Insignificance - I have never liked this song nearly as much as the average RMer. I would put it in the lower half of the middle third of PJ songs. I like hearing it a couple times a year.
8. Of the Girl - Very good song. Solid B+.
9. Grievance - I like Grievance, but I don't come close to loving it. It rates slightly higher than Insignificance for me.
10. Rival - Great song. "And this nation's about to explode" <--- Love this lyric and how it is delivered so so much.
11. Sleight of Hand - This is the best song PJ has ever written
12. Soon Forget - Throw away track. I wish any of Sad/Education/In The Moonlight was included instead of this junk.
13. Parting Ways - I like Parting Ways well enough. It is middle of the pack.
