Got to work and was able to catch from Via Chicago on. They sounded great. Impossible Germany was probably the highlight of what I heard. Nels was fantastic on that one.
- i thought it was pretty ballsy of the band to debut songs from a new album in their entirety in front of 40,000 people, 95% of whom haven't heard any of them. But they pulled it off really well.
- random name generator was a MONSTER live. it sounded awesome. this one, and you satellite were, by far, the highlights from the new album.
- the new stuff sounded really, really good live. it's not as if the songs are really polished on the album, but live they sound loose and already had some added elements.
- i've been seeing wilco for 20 years (I think this was around the 70th or 80th time i've seen them live), and this was the first time i've seen a black guy at the show (and 2 black girls!)
- impossible germany, via Chicago, and art of almost were by far the highlights for the crowd
- glenn and nels stole the show tonight
- i saw a chick in a white, sheer leotard. so there's that.
