That Raw was great last night, exciting show that held interest from start to finish. Two women's matches that were given time, and killer Heyman promo followed by that brawl, and a fresh main event. My only complaint is if they are doing Cena-Rollins. That aggravates me on so many levels. Was the whole point of Owens 10 month push to feed Cena so he could go back to the main event?

For all the love the Taker return is getting, it's becoming pretty obvious that he has taken Owens' spot. Great, after what Owens did he gets an early trip to Ziggler country while Taker gets to main event with what will undoubtedly be a horrible match.

I'm seeing a lot of people shitting on the Taker return. I like Taker a lot but after WM 32 I have no interest in seeing part timers. They need them to pack Cowboys stadium. They need them know because they suck at building new stars. After WM 32 I want them to kinda gut what they are doing and get back to basics. Build stars and build for the future. They probably won't though.

I don't even mind part timers if they can go in the ring. Brock is a part timer and he is my favorite thing in wrestling right now. If Punk came back as a part timer it would be fucking awesome. Taker(and Sting, while we're at it) are DONE in the ring. As cool as that brawl segment was, I have no desire to see 25 minutes of rest holds as the main event for Summerslam.

Now that it looks like the Cena having great matches and giving the rub to fresh talent thing is over, the revamp of the women's division is the only thing I'm excited about.

Yeah I guess that is what I meant. Part timers who can go are fine. Yes, Taker should have retied a long time ago. He DOES look much healthier then he did at WM 30 and even this past Mania but at what point do they stop doing this? When he is 50? 60?

So....again, been watching since December. I have a few thoughts:
1) Brock's matches are all about suplex city, but the Undertaker walks like split level homes are out of the question. How can this be a main event?
2) I guess I haven't had 10 years to get sick of Cena winning, but I don't get the hate. Yeah, he wins a lot. He's a superhero. I read he grants more make a wish wishes than any other pro athlete by a huge margin. If those kids are part of the audience, shouldn't their superhero be almost unbeatable? Also, I have heard complaints that his job now should be to put people over. That's insane. Should Tom Brady's main job be to help his backup be ready?
3) Why isn't Dean Ambrose being given anything to do?
4) Will Seth Rollins basically disappear once this title run is over? I had a buddy over for Battleground, and he told me Jack Swagger was champion once not too long ago. Holy shit!
5) I'd like to Lana.

Undertaker Vs Lesnar is a main event because it's two of the biggest names in the industry meeting up 15 months after one of the most talked about storylines in wrestling history (Lesnar ending the streak).

Cena winning doesn't do anything for Cena, but Cena putting other guys over advances those guys. The comparison to Brady doesn't make any sense because Brady is in an actual competition where performance dictates whether you play or not. Pro wrestling needs established stars to put over younger talent in order to continue making established stars...otherwise you become WCW of the late 90s and you go out of business. Cena shouldn't JUST be putting over new young talent, but he should be doing what he's been doing this year: having important, well built feuds with rising talent like Rusev (who I kind of think sucks, but whatever) and Owens. But there's no reason for Cena to be in the title picture at this point, unless he's going to put Rollins over and help make Rollins and his title more legitimate. Cena being champion is just stale at this point, it's literally the same thing as Hogan always being champion, it's old, we've seen it, we're kinda over it. The main difference between Cena and Hogan is Cena is criminally underrated as a worker whereas Hogan couldn't work himself out of a wet paper bag.

Jack Swagger sucks, Rollins is one of the best workers in the world. There is no comparison. That being said, Rollins would probably be much better off as a face in the mold of Jeff Hardy, but the kid's a star without a doubt. No one has ever watched Jack Swagger (aside from maybe Vince McMahon, which should tell you something) and said Jack Swagger's a star. Jack Swagger is JAG (just another guy). No charisma, nothing special about him other than he's the size and look that Vince jerks off to.

Ambrose is the classic kind of guy that Vince has no idea what to do with. He got over as much as he did despite some of the awful booking he's been given. He probably should be doing for the intercontinental title what Cena is doing for the US title.

I only want to readdress 2 things:

1) You compared Cena to Hogan always winning. You've seen it before, but little kid da haven't. My boys got interested in wrestling this past winter. I hadn't watched since Hogan's prime. Wrestle mania 3 blew my mind. I loved Hogan. I wanted him to always win. To me, wrestling reminds me of comic books. It's good guys and bad guys. My oldest son pulls a blanket over his head when Rollins wins. It makes him so mad, it ruins his day. To me, Rollins is great. He makes good people mad. It makes perfect sense to have the most obvious good guy fight him. Wrestling taught me (seriously) that bad guys sometimes win, but in the end, good guys always triumph. I appreciated the Honky Tonk Man and the Million Dollar Man, but I worshipped Macho Man and Ultimate Warrior.

My concern with Seth Rollins is that once he's not champion, he'll be a low card joke or house show nobody. It blows my mind that guys like Jack Swagger and the Miz ever held the biggest belt. They're jokes now. I hope the same doesn't happen to Seth. He's my favorite.

Hogan Andre at WM3 was great, Hogan winning the title at WM9 wasn't. Cena as champ again is a lot closer to Hogan-WM9 than it is Hogan- WM3.

But the point remains that if you keep putting the title on Cena, then no new stars are being developed. Developing new stars has already been a problem for them, evidenced by their complete lack of patience and awful booking of guys like Ziggler and Cesaro.

To put the belt on Cena again as anything other than a transitional champion as he was last year before Lesnar would be a grave mistake (and I would argue even a transitional run would do more to hurt the title and the overall brand than help it). He’s much more valuable to the company as someone legitimizing the US title and giving great 15-20 minute matches with different opponents on Raw each week than he is as “the champ.”

As for Rollins, I don’t think they’re going to bury him at all. I think they’re going to turn him face by the end of the year and he is going to be MASSIVE as a face. Like I said before, think Jeff Hardy, but without the batshit crazy from doing amazingly stupid shit for attention factor. Rollins being buried would be the least of my worries right now.

I’m much more concerned with how they handle the careers of Owens/Zayn/Balor, as I feel like those guys could very easily be buried very quickly.

Well they had him tap to Cena, and Monday he was part of the jobber brigade they used to break up the Lesnar-Taker fight. Cena is moving on o a feud with Rollins, and Owens seems to be set up for a feud with Cesaro.

To me, it seems like Owens has been bumped down to the "good worker" section of the Midcard that guys never escape from.
