I don't think it's any less gory than the sequels (until you get to Jason Goes to Hell). You don't see the killer, but you sure see the kills.

I'm a sucker for the early sequels as well. Anything before "...Manhattan" pretty much.

I laughed so hard watching Jason Takes Manhattan. It's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. If I thought it was intentionally funny I'd rank it in my top 5 all-time comedies.

From Part 4 to 6 they had a very cool story going on. Part 8 is fun...and jason goes to hell is really cool. That intro with the naked chick was good...and the idea of the movie is very nice too.

The first half of the movie is fuckin A. then, there is really lousy acting and its very distracting.
