My wife and I went through a rocky patch after she told me she didn't like Backspacer.

I'm really hoping that what the songs sound like live was a million miles away from their thoughts when they made this album.

i'm not 100% convinced that the "Ed" vocal and the slide guitar / violin are the same song in that Vine video. The way the vocals cuts in the video, and the guitar is in the next scene, could easily be different songs.

You sound like me describing early clips of Just Breathe.
Really though, if that clip is indeed from the upcoming album, it sounds pretty cool. Specifically that tiny clip we heard of the guitar solo.
I think we've talked about it before, but I'd love for PJ to dabble in a little alt-country. I guess they kinda have with maybe "Thin Air", and "Speed of Sound". Of course, "Puzzles and Games" has a nice shuffle style drum beat I'd love to hear more of.
I was listening to some Billy Bragg and Wilco the other day, and I'd love for PJ to try something like this:

Id absolutely love PJ to dabble in some dirty blues porch stomping tuneage. Vedders voice would be great for it.

Totally agree. I think PJ would sound great doing something like that song posted above mixed with a little of this:

I would've said the alt. country leaning went all the way back to 'Indifference.' Other songs I can think of are 'Off He Goes', 'Better Man', 'Wishlist', 'Low Light', 'Of the Girl', 'Thumbing My Way', 'Dead Man', 'All or None'... etc etc.

I would not mind if future PJ was along the lines of these tracks.
