Re: Who would win in a fight?
It was my favorite of the three, and the battle is impressive, though it runs headlong into the narrative problems that exist in the book. But it lacks the dramatic tension of any of the LOTR set pieces.

I'm still holding out hope that the EE is gonna solve some of its issues.stip wrote:It was my favorite of the three, and the battle is impressive, though it runs headlong into the narrative problems that exist in the book. But it lacks the dramatic tension of any of the LOTR set pieces.

Re: Who would win in a fight?
I only watched 40 seconds of that clip so far, but already I see no reason why that idiot dragon would still be alive. Vader would have killed him before he even fucking woke up!stip wrote:

2 mins into the clip. Still no reason why Smaug would still be alive.

This is an interesting thread to use the "we are adults" argument in

Re: Who would win in a fight?
No you're right. Especially since the argument involves a 50 year old book and 30 year old film franchise. The expectation that the people discussing it would all be older than 21 is SO FUCKING STUPID THAT IT'S MIND BLOWINGtheplatypus wrote:This is an interesting thread to use the "we are adults" argument in

Re: Who would win in a fight?
i made this point along with several others that've been mentioned about three pages ago, and stip just kept changing the parameters of the scenario in response. basically, we're in stip's matrix and he keeps changing it.LoathedVermin72 wrote:By this logic, he wouldn't even need to get close. Just force-throw his saber into the weak spot.cutuphalfdead wrote:Smaug has a fucking weak spot. And if Luke can use the force to hone in on and perfectly hit the weak spot on the death star, then Vader can do the same with Smaug. All he has to do is avoid the fire breaths as he gets there, which I have complete faith in him being able to do, especially is he's controlling his fucking mind at the same time.stip wrote:
Vader's light saber is not going to be relevant to this fight. Smaug is too big, and his carapace is too hard. And if Vader got close Smaug would rip him apart. And Smaug would stay fairly far away and primarily breath fire.
