Um, never . . .surface the north wrote:How often do you clean it?
I mean, I clean the top part where the cup sits. Do I have to clean the inside as well?
The lesson is, I'm an idiot.

Re: The Coffee Appreciation Thread
When you start a brew cycle does the machine get hot and make a noise but not dispense?
Over time sediment from the grounds can build up inside the needles that puncture your K-cups. There are two needles; one on the top of the machine (the part you lift up) and one on the device that holds your K-Cups (which detaches.) Clear both needles carefully with a paper clip for a quick fix, but you should really start giving that Keurig a vinegar wash* once or twice a month if you don't want that to keep happening.
Of course, if you're having a problem besides that, I'm not really sure what you did.
*Run a solution of vinegar and water through a brew cycle to flush it all out, and maybe do it again for safe measure. Then run several cups of plain water through it to get the vinegar flavor out. You don't want that in a fresh cup of Donut House.

Exactly. The machine was on, warmed up, and took about a minute to start dispensing, but I only managed about 2 ounces (of what should have been 10 ounces).surface the north wrote:When you start a brew cycle does the machine get hot and make a noise but not dispense?
What do I do, just fill the water holder with vinegar and run it? If so, how much vinegar? And is it distilled vinegar?surface the north wrote:Over time sediment from the grounds can build up inside the needles that puncture your K-cups. Thanks for the advice. I'm lazy, and probably would have just gone and spent $300 on another machine.

I edited my post to include this:Chris_H_2 wrote:What do I do, just fill the water holder with vinegar and run it? If so, how much vinegar? And is it distilled vinegar?
But this is probably what you really need: http://www.keurig.com/customer-service/ ... tions.ashx*Run a solution of vinegar and water through a brew cycle to flush it all out, and maybe do it again for safe measure. And no problem. I'm usually helpless when it comes to this stuff, but I had that happen to me once too.

I might add that troubleshooting a faulty coffee dispenser before you've had your morning coffee can be pretty maddening.

It's nowhere near my kitchen - I'm guessing the marketing people at Cuisinart decided that forest green formica counter tops aren't in line with their company image.Chris_H_2 wrote:Thanks! That's my machine as well.

A twist of lemon is a nice add to an espresso post meal, I don't look for it when I order a triple at any point during the day. I'll add, after a good meal that invokes espresso there is often a Sambuca ordered alongside and delivered with three coffee beans floating.surface the north wrote:Now a little twist of lemon is something I can get behind.
My local place stopped importing peaberry so I have yet to find something I heartily enjoy, thankfully there house blend is quite good.

I took my Kitchen Aid automatic drip coffee maker to the Goodwill yesterday. Feels weird not having a coffee maker on the counter, but it's nice to have the space. I also donated my stove top espresso maker so I am down to the french press and the stove top percolator. I almost never use the percolator, but when I do, I really like the coffee, so I just can't let go yet.
