So the Braves trade a solid back of the rotation pitcher, a mostly horrible but left handed reliever, their top rated prospect prior to the season, and a back up setup man/ closer
to the Dodgers to save what amounts to 8 million dollars over thier bid for Hector Olivera who is probably 35 and not 30 isn't really a major leaguer yet, has an injury, and a couple of other warm body pitchers?

Shrewd. Shrewd.

We really have no idea how to value position players that can hit, if we can ever even find any.

Hector Olivera is going to come here and either suck ass, or fall apart.

Not that this justifies it, but they also dumped Arroyo's contract on the Dodgers.

The funny thing is they just brought in Arroyo in a move to purchase a prospect, now they're moving him out with a prospect to save money... so weird.

Yeah, I dont get what Hart is doing. It's like they cant decide whether they are rebuilding or going for it.

Yeah I think they save 15 million on that, plus if Olivera can play they get a middle of the order bat for 6 million.

If he can't you just gave up a pretty good haul for more expensive garbage.

They are absolutely rebuilding, they drafted something like 15 or 20 pitchers this year, they must just be in love with Olivera even though he's going to be 32 by 2017.

The Markakis signing does not fit a rebuild strategy.

Most trades I can look at objectively and be like ok they did this for this reason. But really ATL. What the hell are you doing? They got that kid from Arizona for essentially nothing so that was nice but trading away their best prospect and Alex Wood who is really underrated not to mention under team control a few more years? I don't get it.
