Soundgarden - King Animal -

When a band is but a fraction of Pearl Jam, but they aren't zero Pearl Jam.

Reuniting, they're doing it right.

Still holding out hope that Australia gets some King Animal shows at some point.

Would love to see these guys play something other than a festival.

I'm listening to King Animal after a couple of months having left it. It still holds up! Quite remarkable they managed it, really.

Attrition sounds like Pearl Jam still. It could've been on No Code, Riot Act or Lost Dogs.

yeah it could..but for me its more straight rock and roll, like something that came out from the Louder Than Love or Ultramega Ok sessions.

I love it. Wish they make a really cool video with it.

I happen to think that 'Halfway There' is still a good slice of 90s alternative coffee shop pop.

Fuck...these guys play out here the same night as Arctic Monkeys. I didn't even download Soundgarden's new record when it came out cuz I was sick of Cornell's millennial bullshit, but you guys have been raving about King Animal. I'll download it and see how I feel. Monkeys might get the axe...Soundgarden has meant a lot more in my life than they have.

Yes. 'Monkeys might get the axe' is not strong enough. They're awful. You should be ashamed you ever considered them alongside Soundgarden.

Def opt for SG as AM will tour often enough.

Listened to King Animal again the other day and yeah it's okay but it's way too one dimensional. And I feel there's a lack of strong vocal melodies/hooks.

I'm not sure it's one-dimensional. I think it's probably just more consistent in sound than they've been before. But I agree with the lack of strong melodies and hooks. Oh well. I listen to drums mostly so I'm not so concerned about that. I do listen to Non-State Actor thinking wow, if only this didn't have a completely bland vocal melody...
