I liked the scene between Frank and Ray at the table. Some solid dialog and you could see some weird affection for each other by the end.

Half of the scene with Frank and the kid in the backyard was good. Starts off well, but then he starts spouting cliches.

yeah, the table scene was really good because of all the feeling they got through.

I love this season.

And can we talk about Kelly Reilly?

The reason I hated that scene is because they were both using the same growly voice the whole time.

i finally caught up. a part of me wishes my wife and i didn't spend the time to do so. this is really pretty bad. the story itself is OK. but there are so many problems with the writing in the way they convey it, it's hard to watch.

and i heard people say they loved the shootout. i'm guessing those same people really, really like the a-team.

The shootout was poorly choreographed and unrealistic, even by TV standards.

I guess at this point I'm only watching in hopes that Pizzolatto can pull off some amazing finale, which would kinda make Season 2 the exact opposite of Season 1.

About the only thing that would make the finale interesting would be if Daddario somehow is involved again.

Random thought: True Detective Season 1 had 5 Emmy wins and 12 nominations.

Does Season Two even grab 1 nomination? Has any show ever took such a deep nose dive...

Friday Night Lights comes to mind, but that was largely due to the writers strike I believe. It rebounded to have a solid run.
Some would probably say Twin Peaks, but I thought there were a lot of great moments in Season 2.

Emmy noms don't really mean a lot in the first place. We won't need that measure to see that this season just isn't as good.

Early season 2 of Twin Peaks was ok, but then it fell off a cliff.
