Re: HBO Television Show: True Detective
This would probably be better on a re-watch; you'll be able to look for these characters' ulterior motives early on, and the dots will probably be a lot easier to connect. But it moves so slowly that (even with just 8 episodes) I don't think I'll take the time, at least not for a few years.

I dont feel like a re-watch would help. I dont think the problem is that I'm not picking up on subtleties, I just think it's poorly explained.

Re: HBO Television Show: True Detective
the first season was about the subtleties. this one not so much. i shouldn't need a true detective thesaurus, flow chart, roadmap, dictionary, encyclopedia, and viewers' guide for dummies to figure out important plot points. the poorly written dialogue and terrible acting is frustrating enough.

I kinda feel like I shouldn't even watch the finale, but it seems pretty stupid to stop here after watching 7 hours of this horseshit.

Re: HBO Television Show: True Detective
There are characters, that are turning out to be main characters, where I kind of know who they are, but not really. That shouldn't be happening in the penultimate episode.

Re: HBO Television Show: True Detective
the guy in the mask is most likely the Lieutenant from Vinci PD, the really scrawny guy that was at the scene of Velcorro being shot. He also fits the description of the cop that gave Caspare's watch to Lido Amarilla and his girlfriend (the girl the mexicans killed for talking to cops) to set Lido up as Caspare's killer.

I only know who two of those people are. One of them is the main character (Velcoro), and the other has been dead since before ep1 (Caspere).Mecca wrote:the guy in the mask is most likely the Lieutenant from Vinci PD, the really scrawny guy that was at the scene of Velcorro being shot.
