I miss Manny so much, in addition to him being one of the best RHH ever, he was good for some kind of antic like that once a week.

His biggest problem, was that he always pulled his bullshit when they were playing the Yankees. If he decided he wanted a couple days off when they were playing KC or something, people would have bitched but it wouldn't have been that big of a deal. It was always when they were about to start some crucial series with NYY though.

All I know is he stopped trying entirely for Boston that year, and then went to LA and was an absolute beast. We make it beyond game 7 of the ALCS if he plays hard for us that year.

For the most part I'm with you. I just really, really liked that 08 team and us not repeating is one of my biggest (post 2004) Red Sox disappointments.

I don't understand why he didn't accept a mediocre return for Price in order to keep his future team's prospect pool intact.
