I feel like I should watch one episode of his show so I know what all the hype is about.

I feel like he became popular when shows like Flava of Love and I Love New York were on. I obviously didn't have time for his show because of that.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Don't do it, Ruddo!

I watch the show everyday but I'm not really that interested in the finale. It will just be a retrospective and nothing is less interesting than a retrospective of a topical comedy show.

LV: Yeah, I read your anti-JS stuff, and the hate IS indeed irrational...
I actually strayed from The Daily Show for a few years, and now that I'm watching these final episodes I'm kinda pissed at myself for it. JS is on fire in his final days, he still has a great delivery, has great writers, they do great satire and all, too... but the real brilliance is the spotlighting of hypocrisy, glad handing, and overall stupidity of our media and political landscape. His show has also spawned spinoff careers, such as Stephen Colbert and Rob Cordry. The cast of characters have always been uniquely deadpan and hilarious throughout...
and if you ARE a fan of the show, I don't get why you wouldn't be interested in the finale...
It's 30 minutes, FFS!

If you only watch one episode then you will believe he is like O reilly for the left. If you actually watch the show on a regular basis you will see he has no problem tearing apart the left as well. You will also see their level of research and actual journalism is far more advanced than you will see on most fox programs.
And also, its fucking hilarious.

Thoroughly enjoyed the last week of the Daily Show. Sad to see him go. Will be missed.
What can I say I just try to be rational.

Seems like he's mostly staying away from that and not making such a big deal out of it. Quite the opposite of lettermans departure. I'd be surprised if they do a major retrospective. They have done a couple segments here and there but nothing major and have mostly stayed on doing what they do best.

Re: Jon Voyage...
I like the answering of Twitter fan questions... always wondered if some of those ridiculous interviewees were hired actors or real life crazies... That behind-the-scenes segment was enlightening and their approach to interviews has always been genius... in a Borat kind of way!

Re: Jon Voyage...
I hate it when finales aren't sentimental, bloated, and sappy. Letterman did it right.
