A lot of sloppy games. Not a lot of good soccer. Short pre-season is probably the cause but hopefully it picks up this coming week.

Does the strategy of Villa kicking Hail Mary's down the pitch as often as possible make anyone else mental? It works like 0% of the time.

Re: The Beautiful Game (The All Inclusive Soccer Thread)
Missed the game while sleeping. We have a terrible record against Man Utd so I wasn't hopeful at all. 1-0 isn't too bad I guess. Considering this team compared with the Fa Cup final team features only 1 player in the first XI (Westwood) plus four from the cup final bench. That's a massive overhaul.
Our season won't be judged on these games. The next 3 games (Palace away, Sunderland home, Leicester away) will indicate how we are truly travelling.
And bada, that's a pretty common tactic for Villa. Gabby's pace or Benteke's height gave it some merit against the better teams. Also, get used to us having no possession. For the last 20 years we've played better without the ball.

Villa have played a direct, long ball style for decades. Its the British style. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it fails. Most of the time it is frustrating. Boom or bust.

Chelsea look so old and slow. From Terry to Costa to their coach what a joy this will be to follow. I am going to enjoy watching Jose implode. It's right on time too. Three years in he routinely burns his team out. It's like clock work. It can't happen to a bigger piece of shit too.
