I LOVED that the band was releasing some of their best material as b-sides. Hard to Imagine and Yellow Ledbetter. As a youth, this was mind-blowing.

That being said, that stint of the S/T tour where they were opening w Hard to Imagine was not very good. Too fast (and too heavy)....like many other live versions of songs.

Was "HTI" used as an opener very often on the S/T tour? I don't think it was.

It did not open a single show in 2006.

It was in 2008 they opened with it a bunch.

This song at the Vic Theater 2007 was one of my favorite live Pearl Jam moments.

I enjoyed the 2008 shows I went to, one of which was opened with Hard to Imagine.

5 stars. This is a special song.

4/12/94 is the pinnacle live performance for me.
...Agreed 100%

...and that was a special night for sure!

...and that effing drummer! Dave could do what Matt can do, but Matt can't do what Dave could do. I loved Jack, too, but DAMN!!!

Hard to Imagine is my favorite PJ song.

5 stars for sure.

This remains the #1 song on my list of songs I'd like to hear live (at least once). Some 35 odd shows later - nada.

I remember awhile back - wasn't there a crazy long soundcheck of this song for a concert in Barcelona - (either 96? or 2000?) that was really long (26 minutes sticks in my head for some reason). I wanted this soundcheck badly.

Uhg, I've gotten it twice...DC 2008, and Baltimore 2013. Too bad it wasn't you, I would gladly trade HTI for Of The Girl or even Long Road.

Mine too. I still haven't heard it either, but only after 8 shows.

Really hit me in the good spot.

Yep. One of my fave PJ lines.
