I wish (oh, how I wish! J) you were the first person to reach out to us with this problem, but unfortunately it looks like our mix pack crew had a really bad day earlier this summer and a whole bunch of those got away from our QC checks. I hope you’ll accept my apology on behalf of all of us at Harpoon for the un-mixed mix pack you got; sorry we let you down!
If you still have the box that was involved can you tell me the enjoy by date and 3 digit number that accompanies the date? it should be printed in black on the outside of the box. Thanks in advance for that.
In the meantime we’d like to make up for the hassle and disappointment we caused you by sending a replacement UFO Explorer mix pack your way; if you include your mailing address in your reply we will get right on that.
Once again, sorry for the bummer mix pack!
Cheers,
Jaime

I was in PA a couple days ago and the bar at the hotel had a beer from Free Will called "Chasing the Dragon". It was damn near Hopslam good.

I'm already seeing shelves of Pumpkin beer
Can't they wait till like late September or so? I like a lot of them, but I don't want one now, it's still summer! When the days are a lot shorter, and the temperature in the 50's, then it will be a fine time for pumpkin beers, but till then, too soon.

By the time I actually want a pumpkin beer, like around the Halloween to Thanksgiving stretch, they'll be replaced by Winter Ales.E.H. That is why I hate it. I'm a big fan of Spaten's Oktoberfest beer, but it is out now. I want it in cooler October, but nope, won't be around then.darth_vedder wrote:By the time I actually want a pumpkin beer, like around the Halloween to Thanksgiving stretch, they'll be replaced by Winter Ales.E.H. Yeah, me either, but I do like a lot of the Octoberfest releases that also get released early with the pumpkin beers.doug rr wrote:i have to admit to not really enjoying any pumpkin beers

I'm good for few shipyard pumpkinheads a year. It's kinda weird the way it finishes, though. Really dry, but I like it okay.E.H. By the way, I should mention that the UFO Big Squeeze is horrendous. That was the hardest 12 beers I've ever drank.

I'm drinking an over cellared Belgian oude geuze boon (Vat 77). It's not the best that's for sure.

She won't be back until next Thursday. Her teaching gig starts back up, and we won't need her until then. That's probably a good thing.doug rr wrote:whats the baby sitter drinking?Chris_H_2 wrote:I'm drinking an over cellared Belgian oude geuze boon (Vat 77). It's not the best that's for sure.

I love pumpkin beers. Dogfish, Sam Adams, Southern Tier, Weyenbacher, Shipyard, Brooklyn and Uinta all make good ones.Self wrote:I'm good for few shipyard pumpkinheads a year. For those not really into pumpkin beer's, but wanting to try, I'd recommend Brooklyn's Post Road Ale. It's a crisp, easy drinking one. Southern Tier's is like liquid pumpkin pie. It's good, but I can see it being too over the top for some.
In addition to pumpkin beers in the Fall, I also dig the Oktoberfest beers, and Spaten that Ruddo mentioned is a good one. I also tend to start dabbling with black lagers and brown ales in the fall. Bell's Brown Ale is really nice, and Unita's Black Lager is really solid.

Re: You Will Drink Good BEER ... And It Will Be Delicious!
That is spot on and has been the only pumpkin beer I've really enjoyed in the last few years beyond a Pumking. I'm not a huge pumpkin beer guy and have found myself enjoying oktoberfests more but that is also doubling up on exploring lagers more in general recently. That being said, I could care less when a beer is actually released as I'm not really a 'seasonal style' beer drinker beyond freshness obviously. It was hot and humid as hell the other night and I had my last KBS, which was great and sad at the same time.darth_vedder wrote:I love pumpkin beers. Re: You Will Drink Good BEER ... And It Will Be Delicious!
Post Road Ale really is a good beer. I'm looking forward to getting some soon. I usually stock up on a few of the pumpkin beers so I can actually drink them when the weather drops below 60 degrees.
I'm totally a seasonal guy. Not that I really like seasonal beers, but I change things up pending on weather.
Summer, I'm all about lagers / pilsners / wheat beers.
Fall, I'm all about brown ales, black lagers, pumpkin beers.
Winter, I get into porters and stouts. I'm not really big on the "winter ales".
Spring, I get into pale ales.
IPAs are year round enjoyment for me.

There's a brewery here in North Carolina that makes a stout with mashed up pumpkin pies.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I've discovered that I don't like IPAs with a "pine" flavor. I had a local one and one from Oskar Blues. It's like drinking furniture polish.
