Mike didn't need to do that (even more awesome)

Wasn't my quote.

he'll probably blame it on wade or bron
Peeps, if the Bulls recruit another star player to pair with Rose in 2014 will we be able to get along?

Did Wade look worse walking into the building or on the floor tonight?

It's hard to say, both are embarrassing. Wade is obviously hurting, but he's been positively awful. I think he should sit out the next game (and not in a "we got this so we don't even need Wade" type of way, but moreso "this guy's hurt and anybody we sub in will probably contribute more anyway...or at least won't keep doing that stupid thing where he leaves his feet and just throws the ball to a random Bulls player") and grab an extra couple of days before the next series.

It's disappointing that he keeps having knee issues especially because of how great he was during that win streak. He was playing the most efficient ball of his career. But during these playoffs...man.

There is absolutely no reason he should be playing in the next game.

This Griz/Thunder series has been very enjoyable. Marc Gasol is a treat to watch.

"I watched the tape myself and there's open looks," Chandler said Sunday. "We have to be willing passers. You have to sacrifice yourself sometimes for the betterment of the team, for the betterment of your teammates. So when you drive in the paint, you draw, you kick it. We need to do a better job of allowing the game to dictate who takes the shots and not the individuals.

"I'm not saying that anybody is doing it maliciously. I think it's moreso a situation, you want to take over the game or you want to make a big shot, where you have to just stick to the game plan. Good teams win basketball games. Unless you're a great, great, great individual, and we've only had a few of those come through."

I guess guys hold their tongues on that sort of thing during win streaks and when the hero-ballers are hitting shots at a high rate, but once the shots stop falling the patience disappears quickly.

the problem with melo is he is a helluva scorer and can do it in so many ways but believes he will always hit the next shot. thats a good and bad thing, cause when you miss 19 of those next shots you have to accept its not your night and do the other things to help your team, like passing the ball

Shumpert's apparent left knee issue is making me think maybe Derrick Rose did the smart thing after all. Hes sitting on the bench with both knees iced up after playing about half the first quarter.

Pacers and Heat is going to be a good series. I think it could go 7. Probably my number 1 and 4 most disliked teams in the East. Part of me would almost want to root for the Lebrons...

The 'birdman birdman' thing Shaq has been riffing on with the TNT guys is so funny to me for some reason.

He did. But they should have handled it better just by putting him on IR or whatever the NBA's version of "he's not allowed to play again this year so stop asking" is.

Didn't want to start another thread, so I'll just put this here:

Floyd Mayweather highest-paid athlete, LeBron James a distant second

NEW YORK -- Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the highest-earning athlete in American sports for the second straight year.

The boxer is projected to make $90 million in 2013, according to Sports Illustrated's annual list released Wednesday. Miami Heat star LeBron James is a distant second at $56.5 million.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees vaults into the rankings at No. 3 at $47.8 million thanks to a new contract signed before last season. Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers is fourth at just under $47 million.

Tiger Woods is fifth with $40.8 million, his lowest spot since SI started the list in 2004. He was No. 1 through 2011.

Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose checked in at No. 7, although he hasn't played a game since tearing his left ACL on April 28, 2012.

The top 50 include 25 baseball players, 13 basketball players and eight football players, with no female athletes for the fifth consecutive year.

The estimates combine salary, winnings and endorsements.
