I love that NFL.com felt embarrassed enough to "remove" the video from the website, but not delete the actual file:

He 100% should get canned. What a dumb arse and I always thought CC was quite good on-air.

I don't see why he should be fired. Suspended maybe but even that seems a little much. A 'I'm sorry' seems enough. I have serious outrage fatigue.

If they fired Cowherd for pointing out that a lot of players in Central America don't have access to a good education like players in North America do, then Cris Carter telling rookies it is ok to to bad things as long as you have someone else take the fall for you should certainly be a fireable offense.bada wrote:I don't see why he should be fired. Pretty sure this is listed as a Don't ever do situation in every contract a member of a University signs now a days.
Really? You don't see a 'single' reason? Dude should get fired. Getting shit faced at a donor event before speaking in front of boosters and high ranking officials is the definition of a fireabale offense.

Former players on TV need to learn from what guys like Carter and Sapp have done, and know that there are dozens of other former players that would love to have their jobs, and the networks will have no problem with moving onto the next guy.

Wait, are you talking about Carter or the USC coach?jwfocker wrote:bada wrote:I don't see why he should be fired. Suspended maybe but even that seems a little much. A 'I'm sorry' seems enough. I have serious outrage fatigue.

Cowherd had already signed on to do a new show at Fox and rankled feathers in ESPN management. I don't think he would have been fired otherwise.E.H. Yeah Colin was going off the air in a few days anyways. If he had just re-upped no way ESPN would have fired him. CC just gave some dumb advice. He apologized. I have no idea what jwfocker is talking about.

I think jw might have been thinking that we were talking about the USC head coach debacle. He got drunk and started making a fool of himself in front of everyone at an event.bada wrote:Yeah Colin was going off the air in a few days anyways. I'd rather ESPN fire people for being bad at their jobs than saying something stupid. People like Bayless, Holtz and Walton don't say anything of substance about 90% time.

with that being said, Carter is pretty terrible at his job as well. Saying you are a hall of famer every other sentence doesn't make it sound like you know what you are talking about.turned2black wrote:I'd rather ESPN fire people for being bad at their jobs than saying something stupid. Re: The downfall of ESPN continues...
There are people on ESPN Radio right now defending Cris Carter with "the video has been on the NFL website for a year and nobody complained about it, so it is no big deal".
