Needless to say, next morning I went onto Napster (
That summer, I had a Sunday job in a cafe/ice cream parlour and I'd be paid per shift. Every Sunday, I'd work until 1pm, get my money, go back home and head to the music store that was 5 mins from my house. They had a few studio albums and a shit ton of bootlegs from the 2000 tour. First things I bought were Vs, Binaural, Salzburg '00, Zurich '00, and Katowice I '00.
After devouring those, I started reading reviews online to find the best bootlegs. When I finally bought Milan '00 and listened to it, there was never any turning back. Fuck, that was a great summer. Walking into HMV on the day Riot Act was released was a great moment for me. I listened to that shit all day every day for months.
BTW, if anyone can point me in the direction of that 2002 version of I Am Mine I'd be very grateful. If I'm not mistaken, Ed starts playing the intro, then sorta stops as he sings because he forgets the lyrics, but then corrects himself and carries on.
