I love you, Mike Napoli.

My best friend is a Braves fan. I feel so bad for him. They have just really ran that team into the ground. It's tough to get excited about them right now. They will probably suck next year too. Why the fuck did they extend Freddi Gonzalez? Why not grab a new manager and plan to be somewhat competitive in the new park in 2017.

Donaldson or Cain should be the AL MVP at this point I think. Cain is not getting near as much love because that team is so good.
I don't think anyone other than Trout and Donaldson should be in consideration right now. There are plenty of guys having great seasons, but these two are head and shoulders above everyone else at this point.

From an unbiased perspective, it's pretty much a dead heat right now, maybe a slight edge to Trout because of his offensive numbers.

3 teams in the NL East are going to make a run at losing 100 games.

That's fairly amazing. It takes dedication on the part of ownership, general management, game management and scouting to be that shitty.

3 amazingly terrible ball clubs, one with a 300 million dollar right fielder, one with a bunch of bad contracts for old players, one with a AA team playing at the major league level.

I'm pulling for them. 300 losses from the bottom 3 in the NL East. Make it happen.

la stella
castro
ross
lester

three runs and a win would be a miracle

it's an indication of their clutch hitting ability, which is essential to post season success.

Clutch hitting? This is going to go as well as talking to chud about CDs vs. digital music.

I'm hesitant to throw around the word clutch. There's usually not a good enough sample size to measure it, the situations are arbitrarily assigned, and there are far too many other factors going on.

Same thing with the inverse. Is a pitcher bad when it counts, or soft under pressure, because he's had a few shitty postseason games? Or was he just going up against a bunch of really hot bats and got beat?
