Bruce Springsteen

I'm not that into Bruce, but I do really like him. My collection so far is:

The Wild The Innocent and the E St. Shuffle
Born To Run
Darkness On the Edge Of Town
Born In the USA

My favorite album out of that lot is 'Born in the USA'. What should I get next RM? 'The River'?

The River if you want to get something along the lines of what you know you like, but Nebraska if you want his best album.

Nebraska is my favorite too, but it might make more sense for you to get The River first.

My first two albums of his were Nebraska and Tom Joad.

Get Nebraska next. The River is a bit of a mess.

Keep in mind that if you asked this same man for a Metallica recommendation, he would suggest "St. Anger."

I quite enjoyed the Rising - Devils and Dust - magic run (I know there's one other album in there)

And rising is maybe the closest you'll get to born in the usa

Magic is much closer to BITU. "Livin' in the Future" sounds straight out of that era.

A lot of folks were calling "Living in the Future" "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out II" when the album came out.

Personally I don't think any of the Brendan-era albums sound like any of the classic albums -- they're their own era, and solid in spite of themselves.

One of my favorite late period Bruce songs for sure.

I also really like "Black Cowboys" and "We Are Alive."
