loving my new speakers but they are currently on the floor (they are on a short little sticker foot though) and I feel they should be up a little higher.

I have those two 15 inch shelves that I can put them on but then they block the only window in the living room and it turns into a cave :(
My brother-in-law used to setup equipment for bands. He says if you can, get them off the floor, as the sound will immediately bounce off of it, especially if you're on hard wood. Ultimately, it's tough, bc like me, I'm planning on putting them within a bookshelf. Will the shelf have the same effect? Who knows. But from what I've heard, it's best to have them somewhere around ear level when you're sitting down. Which can be quite high, so I'm sure a little lower is just as fine

i've also seen some nice stands that are lower to the ground, but hold the speakers at a slight upward angle away from the floor. I think that's a good option too

I know this is a little off topic, but I got my little Sony ICF38 AM/FM radio the other day in hopes that I'd be able to pull in WOAI from San Antonio and listen to Spurs games this season. I just tested it. SUCCESS.

It's funny because when I asked you that my thought was "who doesn't have a radio in their house?" Welp. We don't. :?

I have a tuner on my receiver, but the reception is pretty terrible. The reception on the new Sony radio is insane and actually the sound isn't half bad on FM stations. There's something strangely satisfying about listening to an old school radio.

Is it an old receiver? Those things need antennas or the reception blows. There's usually a connector on the back somewhere - it's like hooking up the turntable ground.

It's a newer Yamaha. I have a tabletop "HD" antenna for FM and a loop antenna for AM. But still can't pick up the station I want. To be fair, the station is almost 900 miles away.

The little Sony radio picks it up fine.

Neat. I live in the mountains so I'm lucky if I can pick up a channel 30 miles away. On my receiver, that is.
